Associated with shiraz when it is grown in hotter regions. This fine Victorian Shiraz is wine made by Graeme Leith of Passing Clouds Wines.<br /><br /><strong>Three Wise Men Pinot Noir 2000</strong><br /><br />The grapes were vinified by winemaker Graeme Leith using a variety of traditional wine-making techniques. A cool-climate Australain Shiraz, showing all the characteristics of this variety, but without the big tannic alcohol quantities associated with this variety when it is grown in hotter regions. These grapes were taken, after picking to Kingower, near Bendigo, where the wine was made by Graeme Leith. This was a good year for this variety at our vineyard, the grapes ripened so well so that the fruit quantities are well in evidence and green characteristics are muted. Ready for drinking now, but will repay bottle ageing for at least a year <br />This Pinot Noir was awarded a bronze medal at the Victorian Wines Show in 2001.<br /><br /><strong>Three Wise Men Pinot Noir 2001</strong><br /><br />Awarded a silver medal at the Victorian Wines Show 2002.An award winning Reserve Pinot Noir<br /><strong>Three Wise Men Reserve Pinot Noir 2001</strong><br /><br />This wine was awarded a gold medal in the 2001 pinot class at the Victorian Wines Show 2002<br /><br /> <br /><br /><h3>Australian red wine available for purchase on-line</h3>Three Wise Men Shiraz 2000<br />These premium quality wines are produced entirely from grapes grown in the vineyard of Bruce and Mary Jones at Narre Warren East, in the foothills of the Dandenong Ranges. The vines are growing in granite gravel soils on north-facing slopes in a picturesque valley just below the Cardinia Dam. The vines are hand prunes and hand picked. Chemical application is kept to a minimum. The unique microclimate and terroir of this small area produce grapes of the highest quality,resulting in outstanding wines<br /><strong>THREE WISE MEN Shiraz 2000</strong><br />A cool-climate Shiraz, showing all the characteristics of this variety, but without the big tannic alcoholic qualities associated with shiraz when it is grown in hotter regions. The grapes were vinified by winemaker Graeme Leith using a variety of traditional wine-making techniques. The wine has the unmistakable qualities of the variety, with a fine balance of fruit flavours, acid, soft tannins and oak. It will gain further complexity as it ages in bottle. This wine was awarded a bronze medal (Class 16) at the Victorian Wines Show 2001.<strong>THREE WISE MEN Pinot Noir </strong>Equal third, and awarded a silver medal, at the Victorian Wines Show 2002. James Halliday,writing in The Australian, writing of this wine and the Reserve Pinot (see below) said "both wines deserve every bit of recognition they received at the show; the judges this year were extremely parsimonious in handing out gold medals - indeed medals of any hue" The standard wine, he said, " is utterly delicious right now, no matter how much additional complexity it will gain during the next few years. It has exemplary length, line and style, with fresh strawberry and cherry fruit set among more spicy-savoury characters. The tannins are fine, the balance perfect" <strong>THREE WISE MEN Reserve Pinot Noir 2001</strong>This wine was awarded a gold medal in the 2001 pinot class at the Victorian Wines Show 2002. James Halliday, in the article referred to above, comparing the reserve to the standard, says "it is deeper in colour and the oak has given the illusion of greater ripeness, with some plummy nuances making their appearance.This, coupled with oak tannins gives the wine greater complexity and more length.
